New forklift truck equipment sales have gone down over the last ten years, while used forklift sales have remained fairly steady, according to data analyzed by EDA IndustryInsight.

Sales of new forklift equipment were high in 2000, but dropped drastically in 2001. Sales picked up by 2004 and peaked in 2006, but fell drastically again by 2009. The sale of used forklift equipment is slightly lower in 2010 than it was in 2000.

The study, which examined sales from September 2000 through September 2010, predicted that work life sales would increase by 11.1% in the remaining months of 2010 compared to 2009. In 2009, sales were down 37.3% from 2008.
