Employers must ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in 29 CFR 1910.178(l).

This professional lift truck operator safety training class is designed for new operators, experienced operators, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and plant safety and management personnel. This class is designed to achieve the goals of:

  • Providing you with comprehensive training that exceeds OSHA’s minimum requirements per OSHA Standard 1910.178 (l)(3).
  • Providing training that will make you a material handling professional and an accident prevention specialist.
  • Reducing equipment operating costs, and
  • Maintaining employers’ compliance with OSHA regulations.

Course includes all OSHA required content:

  • Why training is required and unique design features of lift trucks.
  • Inspection & maintenance procedures and precautions.
  • Capacity & stability concepts, principles, and application.
  • Rules of safe operation; general and job-site specific.
  • Basic operating procedures and maneuvering techniques.
  • Load handling procedures for traveling and high stacking.
  • Surfaces and environments & maintaining safety for co-workers.
  • Refueling procedures for engine and electric powered trucks.

Course Includes:

  • Lecture and Demo
  • Video with worksheet
  • Exam graded in discussion group
  • Evaluation of skills on maneuverability, load handling, and high stacking
  • Certificate of completion and license

Schedule & Fees:

  • Classes are held on Tuesdays; class begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.

  • Fee per person is based on number of persons to be trained per session and includes costs of travel.
  • We supply all needed audio visual equipment and come prepared to conduct sessions using our own equipment as necessary.
